Wine aromas

Light golden colored below rather slow legs. Nice fruity aroma, a bit mineral in some salty and limestone way. Flavor is slightly acidic at first and pleasantly rounded with smooth fruity notes. Medium bodied with long apple and grape finish. Fruitier Pošip than the ones from Korčula.

WINERY Tomić
Region Dalmatia
variety Bogdanuša, Pošip
CATEGORY White
BOTTLE SIZE 0.75l
RATING

Wine aromas

Bogdanuša is planted on a red soil which gives a specific refreshing sour taste to the wine. In that synergy each vareity provides its best, Pošip provides the strength, minerality, typical fruity and floral aromas of apricot, peach and other fresh fruit while Bogdanuša provides the floral aromas and freshness. The best way to experience the magical wine world of one of the best Croatian enologists, Mr. Andro Tomić, is to visit his winery, a cellar carved in the rock in Jelsa.

variety Žlahtina
CATEGORY White

RATING

Wine aromas

Šipun Žlahtina is the most classic example of this indigenous variety. It is easy going, relaxed, the sort of wine best sipped during the worm days. Discrete and subtle, peachy and gently gardenia scented with a scent of the sea, balanced, mineral and thirst quenching with acidity low enough to make it a very desirable companion.
