Gold medal for Feravino Miraz Cuvée 2015.

Serious red wine with character, intensive flavours and great potential for both, gastronomy and further ageing. Miraz Cuvée 2015 is a Frankovka (Blaufränkisch) based red wine that shows firm structure, elegance and intensive dark cherry and plum fruit.

MIRAZ – Premium line of wines of Feravino winery

The pride of the Feravino winery is Frankovka, often valued as a young and fruity wine with a 2-3 years window for enjoying. But examples of this winery questions that! With their serious approach in the vineyards, careful selection of the fruit and further ageing in the oak, we now see the different, elegant power of Frankovka, both as a varietal wine and in a blend.

The premium line, called MIRAZ, comes from selected grape varieties and positions in the vineyards. The MIRAZ cuvée is based on Frankovka with 30% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and another 10% of Cabernet Franc. The resemblance with premium Bordeaux is seen in its firmness and structure with playful Frankovka, bringing the juicy side of the grapes out.

The fruit here is on the serious side, dark cherries, dried and very ripe plums with the spiciness that comes from aging in oak. You can even detect herbal sensations with a fine touch of chocolate and smokiness.

Vines are harvested by hand and only the healthiest grapes go into the production of this premium line. The wine has been aged in barrique barrels made out of Slavonian oak for 12-16 months.
