Čitluk Winery Vranac Barrique 2013

The Čitluk Winery is the biggest winery in BiH. The winery owns over 300 ha of its own vineyards, consisting mainly of Zilavka and Blatina, recently credited with the plantations of two of the most famous world cultivars, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery buys off all the market excess of Zilavka and Blatina from the area of Herzegovina.

Plantations of Vranac are grown at vineyards along Neretva River, downstream from Mostar. Selected grapes of extra quality turn into wine in Citluk Vinery. The wine stays in oak barrique barrels of 225 liters for at least two years. Vranac reserves its recognizable character and staying in the barrels enriches it even more. It tastes good with spicy food like red meat, game dishes, and fish stew. It is drunk at a temperature of 20°C.
