Groszer Wein Csaterberg Weisz 2017

- +
$23.99

If you stand on the Eisenberg and gaze off into the distance, in addition to next-door neighbor Hungary you can also see clear across the Steiermark to Slovenia. It is the passion for the distinctive and remarkable terroir of the Eisenberg in Südburgenland that drives Matthias Krön and Markus Bach. On this extraordinary hillside with its old grapevines growing in steeply sloped vineyard sites, unique wines are created. In the Südburgenland region, the Csaterberg is characterized as the Eisenberg’s brother. The grapevines grow high up on the hillside, on the southern and southeastern slopes, while the north and west sides are covered with evergreen forests, which provide a natural protective screen against the cold north winds.

Complex scents of this wine, which tells a complex story: four different varieties, the slate soil, the freshwater opal, the long drought, and the cool autumn. On the palate, the Küvee is very seductive: charmingly rounded and yet with a tight, mineral structure.
