PZ Nerica Pošip 2022

Over the last fifteen years, small family winery, PZ Nerica, has been buying and cultivating vineyards on the best positions in Čara and its surrounding. Today, their vineyards spread over 3,5 hectares and eighteen different locations. The best vineyard is the Mindel site with 1.5 hectares of planted vines located at the eastern entrance to Čara. Winemaker Jakša Krajančić says that Mindel is “God Given” appellation, as with its eastern orientation and protected elevated terrain Mindel resists low temperatures extremely well (and exactly these low temperatures were quite fatal in 2017 for many southern vineyards in Croatia).  Family Krajančić cultivates all vineyards manually, in the same way, Jakša’s grandmother Nerica used to do it. Such specific grape treatment results in grape quality which increases each year. To honor the grandmother’s work, family Krajančić named the winery after her, Nerica.

Pošip Nerica has a specific taste of nuts, pleasant almond bitterness on the palate. Characteristic notes of the particular terroir of Čara. Fresh, citrus with plenty flowery notes. Pošip Nerica is an example of an excellent balance between the freshness and the complexity that Pošip as a variety has to offer.
