Quinta da Ponte Pedrinha Vinho Tinto Reserva 2014

- +

The Quinta da Ponte Pedrinha estate vineyards and winery are owned by Maria de Lourdes Mendes Oliva Nunes Osório. The property has been in the family since the 18th Century and is in the Dão region. There are 55 hectares of vineyards planted on granite soil and have been tended and harvested now by three generations of women in the family. Quinta Da Ponte Pedrinha’s winemaker blends modern winemaking technology and years of local Dão tradition to make wine that reflects the unique terroir but is also perfect for today’s consumer. This wine is a blend of traditional Portuguese grapes:  Touriga Nacional – 30%, Tina Roriz – 30%, Alfrocheiro – 20%, Vinhas Velhas – 20%.  Vinhas Velhas are old vines that are a mix of varietals; they have been growing for so long no one can tell which grapes they are anymore.
