Virginie de Valandraud 2016 blanc

- +
$53.71350,88 HRK

The first vintage of this cuvée was sold with the label “Blanc de Valandraud N02”, now revamped as Virginie de Valandraud blanc. Always looking for new challenges, the decision was made by Jean-Luc Thunevin in 2000 to start growing a white vineyard, near Château Valandraud’s own vineyard. As a result, you can taste the “haute couture” wine, everything is being done to much their goal: Creating a great wine!

The 2016 Virginie de Valandraud Blanc is a blend of 55% Sémillon and 45% Sauvignon Blanc. It has a slightly austere bouquet at first that demands coaxing, perhaps not delivering the tropical tones or exuberance of the 2015 last year. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, nicely focused with a brisk, gooseberry and fresh pear-tinged finish. Drink over the next three to six years.

  • Carbonara
  • Mature cheese
  • Shell fish
  • White fish
