Volarević Plavac mali Gold Edition 2020

The Volarević winery is a family firm founded on the initiative of a father and four sons. They decided that the field of quartz, the slope beside the sea in the bay opposite the peninsula of Peljesac is ideal for planting vineyards. This micro-location has a triple insulation: sun/ stone/ sea and only Plavac Mali can withstand these extreme conditions. Vineyards of the Volarević family are processed and crafted manually and according to ecological standards. The wines produced in the vineyards Volarević carry the name Syrtis, which translates to Prud, the name of the village where the family Volarević lives.

Variety Plavac mali
Category Red wines
Bottle size 0.75 L
  • Almond
  • Blackberry

Plavac Mali Syritis flavor has combined all the features of the area where the grapes blossom and the love with which it has been processed in the family cellar. It has a characteristic ruby red, thick almost opaque color with a dark blue hue that colors the side of the wine glass. This is where the name probably comes from, too: Little Blue – Plavac Mali. It has a complex fragrance and gives away the typical aroma of its variety with a combination of berry fruit and dry, slightly roasted fruit plus Mediterranean herbs. Maturing in oak barrels, this aroma gets an extra kick from the wood. Thanks to the rich sugar sediment, the wine boasts a high alcohol percentage that gives a sweet taste when consumed. Light acidity and the fullness of taste combine in beautiful strength and durability.

  • Hard cheese
  • Prosciutto
  • Spaghetti bolognese
  • Stew
